Filmcraft Series Video: Tales of Working Artists with Danny Davila
Watch our in-depth conversation with one of Miami's leading Production Designers!
On this day celebrating LOVE we want to show our incredible appreciation for the amazing talented filmmakers in our community and to the incredible donors who have helped grow our organization.
So for our paid subscribers we are thrilled to be able to share the video from last year’s Filmcraft Series: Tales of Working Artists. This program allows us to share in depth conversation with some of the most successful filmmakers of our community delving deep into their insights on both their craft and how to navigating the business.
In this first installment we bring you Production Designer Danny Davila. I had the pleasure of moderating this conversation with one of the crew members I feel most privileged to have had the chance to work with.
I was lucky enough to have met Danny early in my career and I consider him one of the most talented and hardest working members of our film industry. It is no wonder he is also one of our brightest rising stars and incredibly in demand!
If you want to know what it takes to have studios knocking at your door, tips on gaining the trust of directors, and insights on creating a strong team, this conversation is for you.
Danny’s many projects include Burn Notice, Graceland, The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, Vandal, The Baker and the Beauty, MacGyver and The Game.
We are grateful to the Coral Gables Art Cinema and the Tristarr Adult Education Fund at the Coral Gables Community Foundation for making this program possible.
Please consider subscribing to access this and the other conversations from the series which we will be releasing over the coming weeks, including conversations with Director Victoria Collado, Actor Ruben Rabasa, Rob Requejo Ramos and Pedro Gomez the duo behind South Beach Shark Club, and Oscar winner Phil Lord. All proceeds from our Substack will go towards supporting local filmmakers and getting more Miami stories on screen.
